WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema discussed the need to develop bipartisan solutions focused on creating jobs, expanding opportunities for Arizonans, and growing Arizona’s economy in the Senate Commerce Committee’s nomination hearing for the Commerce Secretary nominee, Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo.

“Arizona is one of the fastest growing states in the nation, and is a leader in creating jobs, economic growth, and opportunity for the people of our state… I look forward to working with my colleagues on this committee to develop bipartisan solutions to invest in Arizona and create the economic environment we need to continue to grow and succeed,” said Sinema.

Sinema questioned Governor Raimondo on her plans to expand broadband to ensure rural and tribal communities across Arizona have needed connectivity. Sinema also discussed her bipartisan CHIPS Act and asked Governor Raimondo what her plans were to reassert America’s leadership in the semiconductor manufacturing industry and bring jobs back to America.
