WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema met with the Chairman of the Hualapai Tribe, Damon Clark, and representatives from the Arizona Department of Water Resources, the Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District, Freeport Minerals Corporation, and the Central Arizona Project to discuss the Hualapai Tribe Water Rights Settlement Act, which Sinema has long championed.
“The Hualapai Tribe, the state of Arizona, and water providers across our state reached a landmark water rights settlement years ago. Now Congress must act– passage of this commonsense legislation provides water security for the region and grows Arizona’s economy,” said Sinema.
Sinema cosponsored the Hualapai Tribe Water Rights Settlement Act in 2017 and plans to cosponsor the legislation this Congress once introduced.
