Sinema Backs Request for Arizona Businesses to Apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans

Mar 19, 2020

WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema is urging the Small Business Administration (SBA) to approve Arizona’s application requesting a SBA Disaster Declaration. This declaration allows Arizona businesses to apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans to help small businesses handle the economic losses caused by COVID-19.

“Economic Injury Disaster Loans will help Arizona small businesses manage the difficult impact of COVID-19 on our communities and economy,” said Sinema.

Small businesses make up 99% of the state’s businesses, employing 44% of Arizona’s workforce. The necessary actions taken by the federal, state, and local governments to slow the dangerous spread of COVID-19 and ensure public health of communities significantly impacted Arizona small businesses.
