Sinema advanced Hinderaker’s nomination to serve as U.S. District Court Judge for the District of Arizona

WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema today applauded the bipartisan confirmation of Judge John Hinderaker to serve as U.S. District Court Judge for the District of Arizona.

“Judge Hinderaker brings to the bench a wealth of legal knowledge, decades of litigation experience, and a stellar reputation for integrity and fairness. I’m pleased the White House worked with me to advance his nomination and the Senate confirmed him with bipartisan support,” said Sinema.

The President nominated Judge John Hinderaker to serve as U.S. District Court Judge for the District of Arizona on November 6th, 2019 following discussions with Sinema about advancing Judge Hinderaker’s nomination.

John Hinderaker was appointed by Governor Doug Ducey to serve as a Judge on the Arizona Superior Court in Pima County in February 2018, and he has presided over family court and criminal dockets.

Before Judge Hinderaker was appointed to the bench, he worked as a partner in the Tucson office of Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP. Judge Hinderaker worked there for twenty years and his practice focused on commercial, real estate and land use litigation. Judge Hinderaker clerked for the late U.S. District Court Judge John M. Roll and the late U.S. Magistrate Judge Raymond T. Terlizzi. He earned his B.A., with honors, from the University of California Santa Barbara in 1991 and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1996.
