La senadora federal Kyrsten Sinema criticó a la administración del presidente Joe Biden luego de participar en una mesa redonda este miércoles. La demócrata dijo que no se ha hecho nada para detener el flujo de migrantes.
“Nada, no ha habido ningún paso activo para detener el flujo de migrantes desde la frontera”, dijo Sinema en una conferencia de prensa. “Una de las cosas en las que he estado trabajando con mis colegas de ambos partidos es discutir el hecho de que el flujo actual es insostenible”.
Sinema se reunió recientemente con agentes de la Patrulla Fronteriza y calificó la conversación de “aleccionadora”.
La senadora que representa el estadode Arizona preside el subcomité de gestión fronteriza del Senado de EEUU, durante la mesa redonda virtual con socios clave de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza (CBP), Inmigración y Control de Aduanas (ICE) y organizaciones no gubernamentales con sede en Arizona se discutió soluciones a los desafíos causados por la crisis actual en el frontera.
“Nací y crecí en el sur de Arizona, así que durante años he visto de primera mano los desafíos en nuestra frontera sur. TRANSLATION: United States Senator Kyrsten Sinema criticized the administration of President Joe Biden after participating in a round table on Wednesday. The Democrat said nothing has been done to stem the flow of migrants.
“Nothing, there has been no active step to stop the flow of migrants from the border,” Sinema told a news conference. “One of the things I’ve been working on with my colleagues from both parties is discussing the fact that the current flow is unsustainable.”
Sinema recently met with Border Patrol agents and called the conversation “sobering.”
The senator representing the state of Arizona chairs the US Senate border management subcommittee, during the virtual roundtable with key partners from Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and non-governmental organizations based in Arizona discussed solutions to the challenges caused by the current crisis at the border.
“I was born and raised in southern Arizona, so for years I have seen firsthand the challenges at our southern border. Today, we bring Arizonans together to strengthen communication and coordination so we can find solutions as we work to secure the border, protect our communities, and ensure migrants are treated fairly and humanely,” said Sinema, chair of the Subcommittee on Senate Border Management.

Sinema focused discussion on recent operational challenges across the state related to the continued high number of migrants crossing and how stakeholders can work together to secure the border, protect communities, and ensure migrants are treated fairly and human.
Following Sinema’s work with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to secure additional funding for immigrant assistance, the released government funding package includes $150 million for the immigrant assistance portion of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program. When Sinema became Chair of the Border Management Subcommittee, her first conversation focused on the contributions and challenges experienced by non-governmental organizations operating on the border.
Last year, Sinema teamed up with Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn to introduce his Bipartisan Border Solutions Act, legislation that enhances the federal government’s response to the border crisis, reduces the impact on local communities in the area border and ensures that migrants receive fair and humane treatment.
Sinema recently partnered with Republican Senator Susan Collins to introduce the bipartisan Asylum Seeker Work Authorization Act, which improves employment authorization for immigrants who apply for this immigration benefit with verified identities and no marks in databases federals.
