Committee also approved Sinema-backed legislation supporting Arizona’s startup community and ensuring oversight within the U.S. Olympics Committee
WASHINGTON – Today, the Senate Commerce Committee approved Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema’s bipartisan National Aeronautics and Space Administration Authorization Act and provisions from her 21st Century Space Grant Modernization Act, both of which boost Arizona’s role in space education and research.
“Universities and businesses across Arizona are leading the nation in space research, education, and innovation. Today’s action will help Arizona’s space industry continue to thrive while ensuring America remains the global leader in space exploration,” said Sinema.
In addition to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Authorization Act and the 21st Century Space Grant Modernization Act, the Senate Commerce Committee also approved the bipartisan Empowering Olympic and Amateur Athletes Act and the Enhancing Entrepreneurship for the 21st Century Act, both of which Sinema cosponsored.
