American Telehealth Association recognized Sinema as a telehealth policy champion following the Senator’s consistent work strengthening and supporting telehealth initiatives for Arizonans

WASHINGTON – Arizona senior Senator Kyrsten Sinema joined the bipartisan Honorary Congressional Telehealth Awareness Week Host Committee as she continues advancing telehealth policies to ensure Arizonans have increased access to quality, safe, and affordable telehealth services.

“I’m honored to join the Honorary Congressional Telehealth Awareness Week Host Committee and proud to continue our bipartisan work in finding innovative policy solutions to strengthen and expand telehealth services for Arizonans,” said Sinema.

Telehealth Awareness Week, spearheaded by the American Telehealth Association, will consist of hospital systems and medical practitioners, policymakers, telehealth solution providers, patient advocacy leaders, and other partners to demonstrate the many ways virtual care improves access to quality health care services for all, including rural and underserved communities.

Sinema has championed bipartisan pieces of legislation that expand access to telehealth, including most recently the Telemental Health Care Access Act and this year’s government funding bill that includes provisions extending telehealth services after the pandemic and increased telehealth and training programs for rural maternal health.
